It’s not really a glamorous story on how we came about the idea of offering our customers the unique thin brick veener products that we now stock. As you all know, the industrial age in our country moves forward with modern facilities to now produce products. But what happens to all the old factories, most of them built out of brick? For the longest time, all this wonderful brick that was used to construct these factories basically ended up in landfill.
With that said I had the idea of harvesting this old and used brick and turning it into a thin brick veneer that can dramatically reduce the costs of decorating with a brick product yet still give you the luxurious look of a standard brick. After all, this is the same harvesting methods we use with our Philly Cobblestone line so it just seemed like common sense to us! Now throw in the fact that in most cases you are actually decorating with a piece of history as a good majority of our thin brick veneer products date back to the first part of the 20th century.
Going Green With Thin Brick Veneer!
I’ve already mentioned the cost savings you can achieve by using a thin brick veneer, but I would like to touch briefly on another issue that is a concern to many when they chose their materials to remodel with. And that issue is recycling. Or I guess the catch phrase today is going green or being environmentally friendly. As I stated above, we harvest bricks that would only clog landfills. Using our special methods and some modern day technology we actually cut the the face off these old bricks to make our thin brick veneer. It takes only a tiny fraction of the energy to produce a thin brick veneer product than what it would take to produce a brick from scratch.
